Festival-Gala: Armando
Thursday, October 26th 2017 // Bockshorn // 8.30 PM
Our workshop teachers and guests from around the world introduce themselves // Performed in English
In the opening gala of the 16th Würzburger Improtheaterfestival we will once again invite the best of the best to the stage: our workshop teachers and international guests. For the first and only time during the festival, they will come together and use the opportunity to get to know each other better – in a format which is celebrating its Würzburg-premiere: The Armando.
Created in the nineties at the legendary iO theatre in Chicago, the Armando is a true classic of the international improv scene. A format grounded in the desire to rouse true and honest emotions in the audience. Personal monologues give glimpses into experiences of individuals. These inspire scenes and stories that affect, touch, move, elevate. From these ingredients a show emerges, one that unites the audience and the performers under a banner of empathy. Come as strangers. Leave as friends.
Presented by Gretchen Eng from Chicago/USA. Music by Michael Bibo.
