Roots & Solodoppio

Longform improv about family ties and merging worlds // Performed in English
In this double show you are in for two improvised longforms, one from Sweden and one – for the first time at the festival – from the Czech Republic.
Roots tells the story of a family, or rather: the women of a family. Two female protagonists, bound together by finespun nets and an ever-present family legacy, defy the borders between generations as they struggle with their fate. Is blood thicker than water? Both characters lay open their strengths, weaknesses, dreams and worldly drawbacks. In this emotional longform, the ensemble TAMTi from Brno/Czech Republic shows what it means to be part of a community you did not choose.
Solodoppio is the creation of two performers from Gothenburg's leading improv companies, gbgimpro and Improverket. The audience gets to enjoy two improvised solo pieces, each sprinkled with magic realism. But in this show, time and space have had too much to drink; as it progresses, worlds collide and different realities hold hands, until two solos merge into a duo. Solodoppio.
