Stornierung des Workshopplatzes
Bis zum 31. Juli kannst du deinen Workshopplatz stornieren und wir überweisen dir die Festivalgebühr abzüglich einer Bearbeitungsgebühr von 30 Euro zurück. Bitte kontaktiere uns per Mail. Wenn du deinen Platz nach dem 31. Juli stornierst, können wir deinen Teilnahmebeitrag abzüglich einer Bearbeitungsgebühr von 30 Euro nur dann zurück erstatten, wenn wir deinen Platz nachbesetzen können - du kannst dazu gerne auch eine Person vorschlagen.

Das Level-System ermöglicht homogene Workshopgruppen zu erhalten. Dadurch soll es gelingen, dass alle das Beste aus ihrer Workshop-Erfahrung herausholen können. Wir behalten uns vor, Buchungen, deren Level nicht zum angegebenen Level des Workshops passen, wieder zu stornieren.

Do you sometimes wonder how to create deep and compelling stories in an instant? How to touch something that everyone instinctively understands? This workshop is dedicated to the most important character constellations in spontaneous storytelling, so-called “archetypes”, containing ancient knowledge about human encounters.
You will learn how to embody intense relationships on stage - quickly, simply, and playfully. And by the end, you’ll have the most important character constellations internalized:

• ⁠ ⁠Who is the hero or heroine of a story?
• ⁠ ⁠How do we play them (or why might we avoid it)?
• ⁠ ⁠Which characters can support the hero?
• ⁠ ⁠Which ones make their life difficult?
• ⁠ ⁠How do we make these roles clear - for our scene partners and the audience?

A playful approach to the fundamental forms of human encounters … in a pragmatic way!
This workshop is based on the book The Play of Archetypes by Gunter Lösel (Impuls Verlag, 2008).

Nicole Erichsen is an actor and trainer in improvisational theatre. She is a co-founder of Improtheater Bremen. Beyond theatre, she sees improvisation as a valuable resource for personal development and for fostering collective creativity.

Gunter Lösel is an actor, theatre scholar, and psychologist. Alongside his theatre practice, he has strong theoretical interests: he has published several books on improvisation in theatre and completed a PhD on the subject (“Playing with Chaos”). As a theatre researcher, he is currently working on the project “The Answering Machine,” exploring language-capable AI on the improv stage.

The Devil is in the Detail: How to Fully Embrace Your Scene Partners, Warts and All

As improvisers, we’ve become masters of making things look smooth and justifying just about anything - or sweeping the bits that might not fit elegantly under the carpet. But what if we don’t? What if we really honestly embrace what’s actually there?
This workshop focuses on how to bring minute details into our scene work. We will work on how to connect with the fullness of the other folk in our scene. Do we truly accept what is offered? Or do we simply skirt around the bits we don't understand?

By using staging techniques, deep listening and breath work we will create scenes of authentic connection and beauty, replicating what we hope to replicate in the world around us. Let us embrace reality instead of a flatter, more easily digestible version of it.

Pippa Evans is a founder member of the Olivier Award winning improvisation group, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical with whom she has performed around the world. Pippa has been teaching improv for nearly 20 years, writing the book Improv Your Life to encourage people to explore improv as a way to embrace the world around them, particularly in regards to confidence and social anxiety. When not improvising, Pippa can often be found on BBC Radio 4 performing musical comedy or at home, colouring-in with her daughter.

When we first discover improv, we take what the world offers us. We are filled by the joyful magic we can create on stage, our naivité and curiosity are our biggest assets. But after a while we get filled up with rules. And it becomes easy to see in other players how they do things ‘wrong’. The more professional our approach becomes, the more we judge performers who are 'not getting it' and who are ‘difficult to work with.’ But are they?

In this workshop, we will change our point of view on the common "mistakes" of improv. These mistakes – even the most destructive offers - are opportunities to inspire us. Nothing can stop us when we want to be surprised, to be provoked, and to be carried away with the joy of the unexpected. We can reach a whole new level of excellence when we let go of how we think things should be and accept whatever is being offered. In that moment we control only one thing. Ourselves. And that’s enough.

Antonio Vulpio began his artistic journey in 1996 in Milano and moved to Bologna in 2002, where he further developed his research in long-form improvisation and physical theatre. His work is deeply influenced by international improvisation traditions, and he has been involved in the Orcas Island Project, a research collective dedicated to experimental improvisation practices. In 2007, he co-founded Teatro a Molla, now recognized as one of Italy’s leading improvisational theatre companies. Within the company, he works as an artistic and educational director, as well as an actor and instructor, contributing to both performance and pedagogy and created and directed several original improvised formats.
Alongside his stage work, Vulpio teaches workshops internationally, where he works as a trainer with a specific focus on the direction of improvisation as a core subject, as well as on formats such as I Sabotatori. He also applies improvisation techniques in corporate and social contexts, promoting improvisation.
