The festival is just around the corner and our first show is already sold out. It's Gorilla, on Thursday 22nd of October at 8 PM, but for the English version at 10 PM there are still tickets available!
As you know, everything is different this year due to Covid19, including the system of seat assignments at our shows. So even if the shows are actually sold out, there might still be seats available due to last-minute changes! We keep you up to date!
Tickets and information about all shows can be found here.

More tickets for already sold out shows!
It's quite the puzzle this year, but good things come out in the end - we were able to make out a few more free seats in all the already sold-out shows. From now on you can buy tickets again via our show page.

Ticket presale has started!
We are totally excited! The sale for the shows in October has started! And we're incredibly looking forward to the great improvisers who will be on stage in Würzburg this year. Have a look through the programme and please notice the information regarding ticket sale and Covid-19.
After she brought her Workshop „Voice is the Body“ to Würzburg in 2018 we are happy to have Aliki Dourmazer from Thessaloniki back! This time together with her amazing colleague Eilon Morris from Great Britain with his Workshop „Habitual Rhythms“.
Are you ready to work on voice, body, rhythm all the same time, all together, and digital?
We are more than happy! We really did not expect so many registrations within such a short time. All festival workshops are now fully booked. But you can still register, you will be put on our waiting list. There is still a good chance that you will be able to participate, because if Corona measures allow it, we will increase the workshops to our normal number of participants. We keep our fingers crossed!

Workshop registration begins!
The time has come - today, on June 16th at 7 PM, the registration form for this year's workshops will be activated. You want to have a look at the program before? Go ahead!
Due to your financial situation you cannot afford to attend one of the workshops this year? We offer 3 scholarships which reduce the participation fee greatly. At the same time we have called on the community to double the number of scholarships to 6 by donations. We want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to participate in our festival! You can find all information about the application procedure, the conditions etc. here. We are looking forward to your applications!
Many people in our community have experienced financial losses in this crazy year. Our association is unfortunately also affected by this. Nevertheless we would like to support those who cannot afford to participate in the festival this year - and you can help us!
You'd like to not only paticipate in the festival but also perform? No problem! This year, we are introducing the show case classes. Under the professional guidance of either Nele Kießling or Gunter Lösel you will learn a new show format and perform it in front of an audience during the festival weekend. More info can be found here.

Corona Update: There will be a festival in 2020!
Until recently we had no idea how and if the festival would continue, but now we have made a decision: We are doing our best to make sure that the 19th Würzburger Improtheaterfestival can indeed take place! The new shortened festival period is from Wednesday, Oct. 21stto Sunday, Oct. 25th. Registrationfor the workshops starts on June 16th. There will be no lottery procedure, as this makes little sense this year. The places will simply be allocated after receiving the registration forms.
We are thrilled and looking forward!

Corona and the show application process
On March 30th we were supposed to start the show application process for the 19th Würzburger Improtheaterfestival. We were already looking forward to reading all the inspiring format ideas that reach us every year. Due to the Corona crisis, however, we decided to postpone the show application process. At this point none of us know what the rest of the year will look like, so it does not make sense to keep going like we originally intended. We will keep you posted on all festival developments.
